The IHLA was started in 2000 by a group of concerned hunters who wanted to stop
the loss of hunting land. We have evolved into an organization that keeps land
open for all kinds of public recreational use. Our members and staff have spent
a significant amount of time and money to locate, research, acquire or gain usage right to and quite simply SAVE LAND! We work for hunters, hikers, campers, off road riders, horseback riders and many other people who use the outdoors for recreation. We work with farmers and other land owners to ensure that we keep open spaces open and work with other like-minded organization to secure conservation easements to keep developers from taking one of our most precious resources, LAND!
